Trip Highlights

For 18 years, Academic Expeditions has had the opportunity and privilege of taking The Harker School’s 7th grade to national parks in the south-western region of the USA. Traveling through Arizona and Utah over the course of 5 nights and 6 days, students will join in a program that is experiential, engaging and exciting. In addition to taking in the majestic views of national parks, students will participate in a meaningful Navajo cultural program to learn about the local peoples and customs.

The National Parks trip remains one of the most unique in educational travel. Harker students discover, develop, and explore these protected lands as they become true leaders among their peers and teachers. Academic Expeditions hires only the best educators and program leaders with extensive backgrounds in leadership skill development, youth programming, geology education, water conservation, and improvisational theatre. From the start of the trip to the end, Harker students will be comfortable, safe and have a lot of fun.

An Academic Expeditions trip includes all air fares, ground travel, hotel accommodations, meals, programming and guides. Students may bring extra money for souvenirs they wish to purchase along the way. Year after year, students and chaperones from The Harker School tell us how much they enjoy the Academic Expedition program.

Harker students love the opportunity to bond with their classmates and teachers while directly experiencing the history of the national parks and the culture of the native peoples. The Harker National Parks trip is a once in a lifetime experience for your child. We will be honored to have them join us for this fantastic trip.
